The re:nature approach

Making sense, naturally.

On this page we present the central elements of our re:nature approach and share the spiritual sources and background of our work. At the centre is the connection with the living earth as the primordial mother. In worldwide mythology she has many names; in India she is called „uma“ - the root ma means Mother. In honour of the Earth, our institute was given this name at its founding. The connection to Mother Earth also remains the root behind the new name re:nature institut.

The re:nature vision

The crises of our time are rooted in the Separation of many people from the Nature. Social change towards more Life usefulness needs ways in which we can meaningfully reintegrate ourselves into the Fabric of life insert - individually as Collective. The re:nature approach is inspired by the vision of being human in Respect and Co-creation with the living world. It becomes reality when we live a genuine relationship with the more-than-human world and overcome the self-erected fence of separateness. Those who dare to take this leap experience that true reality welcomes us joyfully - and we have much to give to life.

re:nature as cultural change

A new culture of service to life can only emerge together, where people work together in a meaningful way: in organisations, associations, housing projects or village communities. With re:nature, we accompany these places of Cultural change and train people who, as process facilitators, ritual leaders and visionaries, can support the Renaturalisation of people and organisations.

Positive image of humanity and European-Indigenous inspiration

Cultural transformation only succeeds if we believe that people are good at their core and feel that we are a gift to the world. living earth can be. We nourish this place within us by remembering the wisdom of our European ancestors and drawing inspiration from indigenous cultures. „To be indigenous again“ means to radical with your own Landscape and to feel yourself as part of this landscape. People are landscape, like trees, wind and all the life that shares this space.

«This, where I am now, is the Holy Land.»

Wolf-Dieter Storl

The core elements of our re:nature approach

  • Relationship management for your own concrete Landscape and the other creatures in this habitat. Our seminars therefore always take place at home instead. When we humans become „wild“ again, it helps the landscape to develop. run wild - a common Project.

  • Tried and tested methods and Practical experience, how people today can return to the Natural connection and into Being naturalcan find their way back.

  • The re:nature-Compass as a spiritual Orientation and action model.

  • Reference to our critically analysed European, indigenous tradition.

  • Politically understood natural spirituality, experiences of connectedness in life-serving action translated - with social Explosive force.

  • The attitude that people, despite many derailments, are basically good are. This results in a more respectful, more appreciative and at the same time clear handling in the uma team and in our groups

„If you do not have this, this dying and becoming, then you are only a sad guest on this earth.“ (Goethe)

The re:nature compass - a European wheel of life model

The re:nature compass is the mental map of our approach

Cyclical or linear? A far-reaching decision.

Original Wheels of life show how all being on earth cyclic, polar and dynamically organised - according to Regularities of space (cardinal points) and time (seasons, times of day, moon cycles). They reflect the Natural order, that we can use as a guide in our everyday lives.

Our modern western world, on the other hand, follows Linearity, growth logic and judgements of good and evil - with destructive consequences. If we want to act differently, we need a different World viewhealthy, holistic and regenerative.

Engage with the Wheel of life of our European tradition leads directly into a relationship with our landscape and the seasons. The path there runs through collective traumas and the honest confrontation with the past of domination, the destruction of nature and contempt for humanity. Anyone who searches through it will find an order that with the past connects and directly in the present works.

Because the Natural order lives - it is cyclical, holistic, healthy and alive. Those who carry it within them find orientation and strength for the great challenges of our time.

The wheel of transformation

In view of the ecological, social and economic crises is that Wheel of transformation particularly important. It offers Personal and social orientation in times of great upheaval.

When working with Organisations it is an integral component. The wheel connects the Wisdom of the seasons with the Hero's journey after Joseph Campbell, who had already developed a Basic structure of transformation and initiation recognised in myths and fairy tales.
