The tree time

A journey to the world of tree creatures

Two days under a tree.
Return to everyday life steadfast, rooted and upright.

Today's world demands a lot from us, and at the same time, old rituals of reconnecting with nature have been lost, causing exhaustion and disorientation. In the Tree time you consciously take time to withdraw from your everyday business and to connect (lat. religio) to the great fabric of life.

The relationship with a concrete natural being - in this case a tree - helps to a rhythm of slowness to find your own steadfastness and rootedness, to recognise the interconnectedness of all life and to return to everyday life strengthened. In this way, your work becomes more lively and from the view of the Big picture thinking out of the box.

Similarities and differences to the vision quest

The tree time is the «little sister» of the vision quest - similarly structured, but different in its implementation and depth. After 1.5 days of preparation, you spend Two days alone in the forest by a tree, but return to the seminar house for the night. The food is ritually reduced, not a complete fast.

The tree time is suitable for people for whom the vision quest is too long, who are not yet able to spend the night alone in the forest or who do not want to fast. Those who have already experienced a re:nature vision quest can immerse themselves deeply in their relationship with nature again here. While the vision quest is a transformative ritual, the tree time focusses on the Reconnection with nature via a tree being at the centre.

How the tree era came about

The emergence of the Tree time shows how new inspiration can arise from the collapse of old plans. In May 2021, we were planning a vision quest in Wendland, but a coronavirus lockdown made the four-day ritual impossible. The tree time was born out of necessity: two days in the forest, overnight stay in the seminar house - a format with its own magic.

Today, we offer the tree time consciously and out of conviction and love it as a „little sister of the vision quest“.

The tree season

Preparation at home

Your BaumZeit is embedded in a joint preparation and follow-up so that the arc can be drawn back and forth from your landscape and your tree creatures at home.

During a joint online preparation evening Before your own tree time, you will situate yourself and your own life movement in the context of social change, receive inspiration from us for a nature walk and leave the evening with more clarity for your tree time.

The preparation days (1.5 days)

The day of arrival (seminar starts in the evening) is followed by a day of preparation, during which you will spend a lot of time in nature. We will prepare you for your time out with suggestions for relationships with nature and small rituals, tree stories, safety etc. and finding your tree.

The time-out (2 days)

You spend two days from morning to evening in the forest by the tree that called you the day before. In the evening you return to the seminar house, but remain in silence. On the second day, you repeat the process. You have breakfast and dinner in the seminar house, and at lunchtime you have a reduced meal of apples and nuts.

The follow-up day (1.5 days)

On the day after the time-out, the stories are told, witnessed in a circle and reflected upon in an appreciative way by us as leaders. On the last morning, we will prepare you for your return to your everyday life; departure is around midday.

Integrating the experience at home

Back in your everyday life at the joint online integration meeting after your own tree time you reconnect to the core of your own tree time experience and align your next concrete steps with it.

The process of integration and alignment after the tree period can also be supported with our re:natur -individual coaching packages (three or six sessions with natural courses) can be combined.
